INORGANIC VS. ORGANIC COMPOUNDS

An Organic Compound is a compound that contains Carbon and Hydrogen.

An Inorganic Compound is a compound that does not contain both carbon and hydrogen.

Both types of compounds can be found in living cells, but due to carbons bonding abilities most organic compounds are large and complex.

Some major categories of organic compounds:
1. Carbohydrates
2. Protiens
3. Lipids
4. Nucleic Acid

A "hydrocarbon" is an compound with only carbon and hydrogen.
